How to Clean and Maintain Your Grade 2 Titanium Band
Share
Pure Grade 2 Titanium is celebrated for its incredible strength-to-weight ratio and natural resistance to corrosion [sports]. However, daily exposure to sweat, dust, skin oils, or saltwater means your premium band requires occasional, proper maintenance to keep its refined, sandblasted finish looking brand new.
Here is our engineering team’s official guide to maintaining your AERON Titanium Band at home.
1. The Daily Rinse
Titanium is virtually immune to saltwater and sweat. However, after an intense workout or a swim in the ocean, we recommend rinsing the band under lukewarm, clean tap water. This removes surface salt crystals and chlorine that can accumulate over time.

To remove deeper skin residues and oil accumulation between the micro-machined links:
- Fill a small bowl with warm water and add a few drops of mild, pH-neutral soap.
- Submerge your AERON band (make sure to detach it from your Apple Watch first) and let it soak for 5–10 minutes [sports].
- Use an ultra-soft bristle toothbrush to gently clean the microscopic gaps around the deployment clasp.
- Rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
3. Drying and Polishing
Never use harsh paper towels or abrasive fabrics, as they can cause micro-scratches on the protective coating. Always dry the band using a clean micro-fiber cloth. Gently pat it dry and let any remaining moisture air-dry naturally.

By following these simple steps, you ensure that your titanium hardware retains its iron-like durability and featherlight comfort for decades to come.
